Ancient Rock at Big Bend National Park Irreparably Damaged by VandalsVandalism and graffiti have increased inBig Bend National Park in Texas. One of the park's most valuable prehistoric arts has been ruined.A group of unknown people vandalized the Panel of Ancient Petroglyphs at Big Bend National Park's Indian Head area on December 26, 2021. They brazenly carved their names and the date onto the archaic art. Big Bend National Park managers are now requesting that anyone with knowledge, or who has been involved in these occurrences, contact the park's law enforcement team.Over fifty instances of damage at these historically significant sites have been documented by park archeologists since 2015. Each act of vandalism against our national parks and treasures, according to Big Bend National Park Superintendent Bob Krumenaker, means that a piece of our country's history is lost forever. They are encouraging Americans to protect their country's beauty and heritage by reminding everyone to be responsible and report any information they have about the incidents or individuals involved in the damage of Big Bend National Park law.Photos by: National Park Service#BigBengNationalPark #Vandalism #Damaged #Texas
This Vending Machine in Texas Sells Fresh Pecan Pies 24 Hours a DayThe Berdoll Pecan Farm, which is just outside of Austin, is famous for its vast variety of pecans (including Cheyenne, Pawnee, and Choctaw) and seemingly infinite pecan-based food products. People in Central Texas love the pecan pies especially well.Although the store is open 7 days a week, it's not open 24 hours a day. That's why the family that owns and operates the farm installed a vending machine that is stocked every day with fresh pecan pies, among other pecan products. And after you purchase your pie, you can take a photo with Ms. Pearl, the 14-foot tall statue of a squirrel holding a pecan.-via Atlas Obscura | Photo: Berdoll Pecan Farm#vendingmachine #pecanpie #Austin #Texas #pie
