The Berdoll Pecan Farm, which is just outside of Austin, is famous for its vast variety of pecans (including Cheyenne, Pawnee, and Choctaw) and seemingly infinite pecan-based food products. People in Central Texas love the pecan pies especially well.
Although the store is open 7 days a week, it's not open 24 hours a day. That's why the family that owns and operates the farm installed a vending machine that is stocked every day with fresh pecan pies, among other pecan products. And after you purchase your pie, you can take a photo with Ms. Pearl, the 14-foot tall statue of a squirrel holding a pecan.
