From thousands of pink-footed geese meeting the winter to a large power plant emitting smoke in the background, the winners of this year's Drone Photo Awards show things that we don't usually see on the ground. Ironically, while the photos look definitely beautiful as one looks with the right perspective at the right time, the stories behind some shots could rather be heartbreaking.

For Urban, Metaphorical Statement About City and Winter by Sergei Poletaev
The award-winning Photo of The Year was "Pink-Footed Geese Meeting the Winter" by Terje Kolaas.
Lastly, for the Series Category, we have Blanketed in Fire Retardant by Adrees Latif.
