What Does This Sign Mean?
Andrew Ha saw this sign in Montreal. What does it mean? That is a great mystery. To take it literally, if one walks behind a squirrel, one will be fined a hundred dollars. That’s how I would interpret the arrow and the gavel.Alternatively, there appears to be a second sign bolted to the bottom of the original. This could have been a change in the fine level instituted by the local government or it could have been a plot by squirrels to imply that there is something wrong with walking behind squirrels. Perhaps the original design rewarded people for pursuing what one pest control expert once told me were “rats with good PR”.-via Dave Barry#signs #squirrels
Why Is There a Stash of Emergency Honey?
What would one need emergency honey for?Well, let us surmise one thing form the sign: it exists. Since it’s there, then it’s essential that multiple people be able to locate the emergency honey quickly, just as one must be able to locate a fire extinguisher within seconds when one is needed. In this case, the sign and its referent honey are at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C. In a 2014 article for PBS NewsHour, journalist Rebecca Jacobson explains that zookeepers stash containers of honey around the facility to distract any bears that escape. Throw the honey in one direction and flee in the other.-via Super Punch | Photo: Rebecca Jacobson#bears #signs
