Like a walking vending machine, the droids are deployed on sidewalks, increasing potential sales by targeting customers directly. The fleets are operated remotely by a team located in Mexico City who monitors every transaction. Retailers who utilize Tortoise’s service don’t have to pay anything for the robots, only a 10% remit of the gross sales.
