Playing Video Games Improve Reading Skills by Training the Visual Attention Systems in the Brain
Visual attention in the brain plays an essential role in quick and efficient reading in children. And when it comes to exercising these attentional processes, video games can be a great help. Yup, you read it right. Video games can help improve reading skills. This was according to this research which involved participants of varying levels of video game experience. The study found out that those who had more exposure to video games tended to have a faster reading reaction time than those who had less or none. The researchers note that activities that can affect attentional processes (like video games) can also have an impact on reading. This study could help video game designers to create games that can help children and adults alike develop their skills.(Image Credit: Pixabay)#Reading #VideoGames #Gaming #Attention #CognitiveProcesses
