The image above, of a green turtle surrounded by glass fish, was taken at Ningaloo Reef off the coast of western Australia. It won Aimee Jan the title of Ocean Photographer of the Year. The <a href="https://www.oceanphotographyawards.com/" alt="Ocean Photography Awards" class="on">Ocean Photography Awards</a> have been bestowed for 2021, and the winners are magnificent. Eight photographs were recognized as winners different categories.

Ben Thouard caught this surfer in Tahiti and won first place in the category Adventure Photographer of the Year.

Stalactites and stalagmites in underwater caves are called speleothems. Martin Broen highlighted them and their shadows in this image taken at denote Dos Pisos in Mexico. It made Exploration photographer of the Year.

The Young Photographer of the Year award for 2021 goes to Hannah Le Leu for this closeup image of a green sea turtle hatching.

Kerim Sabuncuoglu of Turkey was named Conservation Photographer of the Year for this image of a moray eel caught on a fishhook from an abandoned fishing line.

The Community Choice Award went to Phil De Glanville for this rainbow surf.

The Collective Portfolio Award goes to German photographer Stefan Christmann for his body of work of an emperor penguin colony in Atka Bay, Antarctica.

The new Female Fifty Fathoms Award for 2021 goes to American Renee Capozzola. As you can see, it's not the first award this image of three turtles has won!
