The Cathedral in the Desert is described as a giant slot canyon that opens into a giant cavern. The serene pool was formed by cascading waterfalls. Many define this place as quiet, almost holy, with a sort of a built-in cathedral. Thus the space was given the name Cathedral in the Desert. These wonders were actually exposed because of a massive drought across the American West. The unfortunate event of the drought has revealed something truly beautiful.
