Somersaulting Car: Russian Mechanic Garage54 Flipped a Lada Outfitted with a Rollover Bar
Rollover bars and roll cages in cars aren’t a new concept: they’re a necessity in rally cars and racecars because they help protect the driver in case of accidents, especially when the car rolls over on its side and roof. But the mechanics at Russian YouTube channel Garage 54 have something different in mind when they think of rollover bars: they actually made one to facilitate a car to flip over or somersault over its roof!In this wacky YouTube clip, Garage 54’s Alexander Lukyanov and Vladislav Barashenkov from Novosibirsk, Siberia, decided to flip an old Lada safely, so they welded a round-shaped rollover bar around the car.The Garage 54 team transported the car to a testing site, where Barashenkov drove the car in a straight line then suddenly stepped on the front brakes to cause the Lada to flip forward. It took several attempts before he managed to gain enough speed to flip the car end-over-end.#somersault #car #Garage54 #Lada
