This Samsung TV Remote Doesn't Need Batteries. Instead, It Charges by Capturing Radio Frequency Signals Emitted by Home Wi-Fi Routers

South Korean multinational manufacturing conglomerate Samsung introduced a new energy technology at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The newest innovation involves a TV remote control that is powered by the energy in radio frequency signals emitted by home Wi-Fi routers. According to the company, this innovation is part of their mission to make consumer products more environmentally friendly. Aside from capturing energy from radio signals, the new remote can also be recharged via harvesting energy from artificial room light, sunlight, and from a USB cable.
