OmniFibers: "Robotic" Fabric that can Sense the Wearer's Breathing and Act as an Artificial Muscle

Breath control is a familiar friend for the athlete and the singer. After all, they are required to do this to improve their performance. But training how to breathe correctly might be easier for them soon thanks to this new fiber developed by Swedish and MIT researchers.

Named as OmniFibers, the fiber is said to have the ability to act as an artificial muscle. It can sense how much it is being stretched and compressed, and it will react in the form of pressure, lateral stretch, or vibration.

The fiber can be integrated into clothing, but it is compatible with human skin as well.

Aside from performers, the OmniFibers could prove to be a great help to recovering patients as well.
