Apple is generally known for its sleek and simple product designs, such as the Apple Watch and by extension, its nondescript wireless charger. While there is obviously nothing wrong with its simplicity, some may find it boring and might want to get a little bit more creative with how they experience their devices.
Thingiverse user ‘option 8’ did just that when they posted a project for an Apple Watch charging dock that is designed to look like the old Macintosh Classic, a personal computer sold by Apple back in the 90s. Talk about nostalgia!
The charging dock design is made up of two separate components:
The first component is a stand that keeps the wireless charging puck in place. A cable slot is also included for easy cable management and routing.
The second component is a shell that fits on top of the stand and has a slot for your Apple Watch to be inserted into, allowing it to charge wirelessly while keeping it in place by its band.
The watch's display lines up with the Mac's screen when it's slotted in, allowing you to see it while the watch is in Night Stand mode.
