Glacier National Park Rangers Return Very Special Lost Teddy Bear to a Little Girl

One year after losing her precious teddy bear in Glacier National Park, rangers were able to return Naomi’s precious “Teddy” to her.  The eight-year-old's companion was given to her by her new parents while she was in an orphanage. Teddy kept her company in many adventures around the world.

Park rangers found the toy during a post-season clean-up. Teddy was buried in the snow, sopping wet. Ranger Tom Mazzarisi refused to throw the teddy bear away. According to him, "bears are my passion. I just didn't have the heart to throw it away. There was something special about this teddy bear, so I adopted him and named him Caesar." Caesar, which already had a penchant for accompanying people on adventures, sat in a patrol vehicle and accompanied the park ranger.

As to how Caesar or Teddy returned to little Naomi, a family friend who visited the park noticed the bear. Recognizing the teddy bear, they left a note and contacted the staff. Teddy was then returned to his original owner.
