Tatsuya Tanaka uses everyday household objects and adds more detail and objects to turn them into miniature dioramas, The dioramas are captivating the love and attention of viewers. In addition to household objects, the artists will also sometimes feature popular anime characters, such as Doraemon and Chihiro from Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away.
One of my favorite pieces featured in the compilation was Tanaka turning a face mask into a basketball court, with two miniature figures playing together. It just makes me think about how the face mask’s main use at the moment, which is to be a preventive measure against the pandemic, is put together with an outdoor activity that requires people to be in proximity with each other.
