Artistic Hammocks and Swings by Federica Sala

Dornob introduces us to Federica Sala, an Italian designer who offers whimsical household objects and sculptures in a body of work called Geometrie da Compagnia.  They are designed to be art in motion.

The example above is called “Bruno’s Swing”. This safety swing for a young child conveys the maternal love that the child experiences as he enjoys everyday childhood play.

The “Happy Hammock” expresses the delight of a casual nap. A relaxed smile will cross your face as the drooping eyes of the frame accent this outdoor resting place. Sala tells Dornob she’s loved hammocks since she was a child trying out the many hammocks in her grandmother’s garden. As an adult, she tries to experience the hammock lifestyle whenever she can. This design would definitely set the right mood.
